November 9

We took a test on the Hindi Swara (अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ऋ, ए, ऐ, ओ, औ, अं, अः), and the kids did a wonderful job remembering and recognizing each swara along with their sounds. They also joined in small discussions and a fun game to help them learn and remember Hindi colors.

We have now started learning the Hindi Vyanjan (क, ख, ग, घ, ङ). Students are required to practice all the swara and vyanjan at home and try to find at least two words for each vyanjan.

October 26

Today we revised the Swar from अ (chhota “a”) to अः (aha) as kids had hard time remembering it.

Students are requested to complete their Swara practice in the workbook at home.

A small request, few students did not have their Hindi workbook today. Please remind your child to pack and bring their Hindi workbook each week.

We also  spoke briefly about Diwali and did a small Diwali craft to keep the festive theme alive. 

Starting next week, we will begin learning the Hindi Vyanjan (व्यंजन) - क, ख, ग, घ etc. 

October 12

Revised the topics from the previous classes.

Covered औ, औ, अं

Homework: write 2 columns for औ, औ, अं in the writing book.

October 5

Today we revised Swar (स्वर) – अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ and found 5 words for each.

We also practiced counting from 1–30 and learned names of face parts in Hindi.

Kids had great fun playing a Hindi word game! 

Homework:

Complete writing 3 rows till बड़ा ऊ (ऊ) in the notebook.

Find 5 words for the following Swaras:

ऋ (Ri), ए (Chhota e), ऐ (Ai), ओ (O), औ (Au) and learn body parts name in Hindi.

Namaste, 

In today's class we went over the difference between अ and आ . We went through a few words and sorted some words based on the letter they started with. We also distributed 2 hindi books for each kid, which we will use this year.

Practice writing अ 5 times

We did introductions and spent some time reviewing the purpose of the class  including learning Hindi alphabet as well being able to speak simple sentences in Hindi . For HW kids have to find the meaning of their names and also name of breakfast they will have Sunday morning in Hindi. Also asked kids to bring a notebook, pencil and eraser along.
